Dress Code

Can you believe these people who are outraged about Michelle Obama wearing shorts?? So what if she's the First Lady. She has the right to wear shorts. She went to the Grand Canyon with her children for crying out loud in the middle of August. I too would wear shorts and perhaps even a tank top.

I do not care for Michelle personally, but I do like her style. I see nothing wrong with this picture.

Oh, and why researching for this post, I found another article "bashing" her for wearing a Merona dress from Target. I am a firm believer in wearing what's cute and comfortable. Who cares where it came from?!

I am not a fan of this particular dress, but I do like some of the other Merona dresses at Target. Since I like her style, at least I'll be able to go out and purchase it. Unlike when most famous people wear $300 t-shirts.

We do not live in a country where women have to cover their arms, legs or hair. This is a free country and as long as you're dressed age appropriate and you aren't showing too much skin, you're fine.

I work in a leisure industry and we can wear shorts, sneakers, t-shirts, etc. and I love it!!!

Do you think it's ok for the First Lady to wear shorts and a dress from Target?

I think that if more people shopped at Target, our economy wouldn't be in such a crapper! Overspending is what has put most of America in severe debt. Be smart people!!!

I love when my 'trendy friends' like my clothes and I can tell them they are from Target or Old Navy. :)

who cares where her clothes come from. If she had the shorts on at some important function- then people could argue that she was not dressed properly- but at the grand canyon?? sheez, its HOT folks!!! I am not a fan- but I do think people have no right to judge what she does on a family vacation or what brand clothes she wears.

She's a mother and a real person, not a mannequin for clothes. And women wear shorts all the time. It's so weird that the media is making an issue of her clothes. Target has some really cute clothing! The dress is pretty.

I'm not a fan of the politics of Michelle Obama, but I have to give her credit for trying to show responsibility by wearing clothes that us lowly "normal" people wear and by creating a garden to supply veggies for White House meals. And I would think her MORE crazy if she went to blazing hot Arizona and wore a pantsuit!

Coming from a Target fanantic, I'm all about comfy and inexpensive!!! Who cares what anyone wears unless it is downright tasteless. I applaud her for making her own choices. (Ok, that was kinda hard for me to say! Go Republicans!)

I think it would get so old having people critique every single thing about you. I bet she wants to walk around in her pajamas every now and then. I think she should be able to shop wherever she wants!

I agree, let her wear what she wants to wear!

I agree. She should be able to wear what she likes. Target has some really great clothing, and since most of our country needs to be spending less, she should be setting that mark too. I do not really care for her either, though, and find it absolutely terrible that there are blogs devoted to her clothing.

I couldn't agree more... shouldn't the mesia be focusing on REAL issues instead of what Michelle Obama is wearing??? Who cares and I think Target is fabulous!!

I'm with you, don't care for her personally but do agree that she usually dresses with style of what's in right now. And shorts to the Grand Canyon...TOTALLY ok, without a doubt. It's not like she attended a congressional hearing or anything. Or, it's not like she works in my office (as noted by yesterday's post of work attire).

also, you are soooo lucky to work in such a laid back, leisure environment! =)
