I'm Getting Old

Well, I made Fred take the love language quiz (we took one on Facebook) last night and his result was physical touch. It's good to know that's how he responds to love. Last night, we kind of made it a joke and I would rub his arm and he would hand me the remote as a "gift". I know, we're corny! But, we're in love! (insert ooh's and ah's here)

If you're interested in reading the book where all of this comes from, it's called "The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman. It's a great way to learn about your special someone.

So, this morning I get an email titled: "BHS c/o 2000 10 Year Reunion". Ahhh! Yes, I graduated from high school in 2000; so, it's only been 9 years, but we've got to start planning. Since I was a class officer in high school, I am part of the planning committee. It's just hard for me to think it's been that long since I was in high school. It feels like it was just a few years ago.

My high school experience was great. I was on the dance team, a class officer, and an honor roll student (sorry, had to brag). But, it's definitely not something I'd want to go back and relive again.

I guess, since I am part of the planning committee, I should go to the reunion. With all of the social networking sites today, do people really care about class reunions? I pretty much can find out anything I want to know about anyone who graduated with me. Are people really willing to pay $40 to have awkward conversations over a span of two days when they can find out anything for free on Facebook? Have any of you been to your reunions? What are your thoughts?

Girl, you have a lot to learn...

Ok, talk amongst yourselves (in my best Mike Myers voice from the "Coffe Talk" skits from SNL)....

first: I love that book. My language is gifts. My fiances is also touch.

second: my reunion is in 2011 and I don't think I'll go. Everyone I would want to see I am friends with on FB and I wouldn't want to go have the awkward conversations.

I think most men are touch.

I was thinking the same thing. I graduated in '03 and I really can't imagine going to a reunion. I was in a class of 61 people. 20 of whom still seem to be in high school and hang out and a very regular basis. I keep up with the ones I want to via Facebook and random dinners. And can see updates for those that I really don't care to make an effort with. Not sure that I'd want to go to an event and force conversation... We'll see.

I will just let you know, since I am part of the same class as you, that I am NOT planning on going to ours. That is unless you plan something that is out of this world awesome and I can't pass up :) I keep in touch with all the people I care to keep in touch with and I don't want to see that most of the people we gradutated with are still as immature. Besides I was a snob in high school remember??? I doubt anybody cares to see me ;)

My love language is also physical touch (and quality time). I need to find out the bf's.

I graduated in 2000 too, but since I moved around so much I went to 3 high schools, so I'm pretty sure I won't be attending any. My bf just found out about this, it's in October...he's debating if he wants to go. I told him I'd fly him home for his bday if he wants to attend. =)

Aww, that's cute how you guys "spoke" each other's love language. :)

I can't believe it's almost time for the reunion! Crazy! I don't know if I'll go or not; I haven't though a whole lot about it, really.

Sam and I were talking about it earlier! He told me about the venues on the email... I can tell ya now that I don't think the Cadre building is going to work out in June for $40 a person. Hmmm... would the Cadre like to have our reunion or potentially have a double-wedding weekend for a big ole profit? Guess we'll be at Lichterman! Haha! Still not sure if I want to bother going.
