Wishful Wednesday: Pets

'I wish' .... My pet could talk because I have been dying to know why Knox eats his poo.

Yes, my cute son eats his poo. Now, it's not every single time, but it does happen about once every other day. It's disgusting and we try to lure him with treats and toys, but sometimes, that is just not enough. He's done this since he was a puppy.

We've tried putting meat tenderizer, the packet from the vet, and oil on his food and nothing worked. Since he's started eating Greenies, the poo snacks are less, but they still happen.

After he eats some, Fred and I call the "10 Minute Rule". No puppy kisses please!! (obviously we wait longer than 10 minutes)

He has every kind of treat, toy, and bone that you can imagine. I just don't know why he does this. He gets enough food (dog food and people food).

Knox, please stop this nasty habit.

To participate in "Wishful Wednesday", head over to The Seattle Smith's! See you there!

We must find a way to get them to stop. Maybe it's a Doxie thing??

I heard there is stuff at Petsmart that you can sprinkle on there food and it makes there poo taste bad to them. I am buying it this week.

At least I'm not alone with my little poo eater! it is SO GROSS though!

They have stuff you can buy that is supposed to stop that! I have never had to try it but it may be worth it! My dog eats dead dried up worms!!! I am not sure that is much better! GROSS!

I used to have a Jack Russel that did the exact same thing!

Ohh this is a funny one .... and gross at the same time, but there is nothing you can do about it. Except run the other way after they poop!! They're pretty dang cute otherwise :)

Bailey does that too, I know, it's gross! I have tried these little pill/treat things from Petsmart that were supposed to stop it but it didn't help.

I am SO glad my dog doesn't eat poop. My mom's dog does though. I just wish I knew what my dog did all day! And I wish I knew what she was thinking when she comes up to me and just stares at me.

Ha! My dog, Tate, used to do the same thing. We tried everything too and finally he just stopped.

I found you through Short Southern Momma and I just wanted to say "hi" to another Tennessee gal. I look forward to reading your blog!

Dogs are really weird that way - BUT I have heard that if they are doing that, they have a deficiency in their bodies - ask your Vet - they'll tell you - I can't recall the name of it or what the deficiency is from. Good luck! I know what you mean though - it's gross to watch! YUCK! LOL
