Majestic Cats and Bloody Vamps

Friday night started out great! My friend, Kendra, and I had made plans to go to dinner at The Majestic Grille and to go see Cats at The Orpheum. Our dinner reservations were at 6pm. At 6:20pm, after we'd been sat, drinks and salads served, the power at the restaurant goes out! Our meal actually comes out and we get free dessert, but there's still no power. We walk to The Orpheum and again, no power. We wait for about 5 minutes and they come out and tell us that the show has been cancelled for the night. We were told to come back Saturday and get tickets for another showing. We had a great time despite the black out of Downtown Memphis.
Saturday was spent running errands and trying to get tickets for another performance of Cats. We ended up getting some new slip covers for pillows to our new bed. Do you like???It's slowly, but surely coming together.

So, Kendra and I went to see Cats on Sunday afternoon! Finally! We both are glad we saw the show, but we're not completely sure we understood it. It was not what I expected, but I enjoyed it. The costumes were amazing and Rum Tum Tugger is my favorite! He made the show!

Sunday night, we had a couple of our friends over to watch "Big Brother" and "True Blood". Fred made his delicious fajitas:

Sookie Stackhouse Succulent Cupcakes (aka Red Velvet cupcakes):
And as promised, the secret ingredient to Fred's fajitas....
You can purchase this rub at any Williams-Sonoma store or here. It'll run you about $10 a can, but you get two good portions of fajitas (including veggies) out of the whole can.

Directions:
Place cut up chicken and/or steak in a large plastic bag
Pour 1 tbsp. of your favorite olive oil in the bag
Sprinkle 1/4 of the bag of chili-lime rub in the bag
shake well

*You can also use the same technique for your favorite grilled veggies for your fajitas.

Overall, we had a GREAT weekend! I hope you did too!

Love your dress. So super cute! I am going to have to try that rub. My hubby has been complaining I haven't been letting him use his usual marinade since it has HFCS!

Yum now I want Fajitas! :) William Sonoma is pretty far from my area so maybe next time. I have the tv all to myself this week so I'm going to rent all the True Blood seasons and watch them! The bedroom looks great!

Hey Caroline, We were downtown too eating at The Flying Fish when the power went out! We were supposed to see the Redbirds play, but it was postponed to Saturday. We still haven't traded in our tickets for another game. I agree, your blue dress is adorable! Glad you got to see Cats after all and I feel the same way, I have never understood it and it is definitely my least favorite Broadway show.
