12 Days of Christmas: Day 1 {Christmas/Holiday traditions}

Day 1: Christmas/Holiday traditions

Christmas with the Smithwick's is spent driving all over town, eating and opening presents. Both of our families live in the Memphis area and split our time between the families.

Luckilly, when Fred entered the family, his family schedule and traditions fit right in with our's. It was a match made in Christmas heaven!

Here's a little breakdown of the Christmas schedule:

Christmas Eve:
12pm - Order pizza and open presents with my family
5pm - Head to my aunt's house for dinner
After dinner, head over to Fred's parents' house for presents

Christmas:
9am - Yes, Santa still comes my parents' house (don't knock it)
1pm - Lunch at Fred's aunt's house
6pm - Dinner at my parents' house

After all of the fun is over, we head home to crash!!

What is your Christmas tradition?

This will be Chad and my first year doing Christmas and Thanksgiving with both families and it sounds a lot like that! Its so great to have so many traditions with fam. My parents still write "To Neely from Santa" on my gifts so I wont knock it :)

I like the ordering pizza thing - so easy! No dishes, no nothing! After we open gifts, it takes everyone at least 30-40 minutes to clean the tables, dishes, etc! And I just want to open my gifts!! Ha!

Do you take Knox with you?!?!

I love how you have yours all set with times and everything! I've had to learn to be flexible with M's schedule!

Love the idea of ordering pizza. Way to help take the pressure off!

Yay! Love this,

My family opens one gift after church on Christmas Eve and then presents early Christmas morning. Then, I cook the Christmas dinner and then dessert and prezzy's at my in-laws.
