Kelsey from The Seattle Smith's!
Congratulations, Kelsey! Thank you all for playing along!
Happy Memorial Day weekend!

A BIG Weekend Ahead

Happy Friday! We have a BIG, busy weekend ahead of us!

And since it's a "Big" weekend, I'll be seeing Mr. Big in "Sex and the City 2" with one of my best friends, Kendra on Saturday! We already have our tickets! And we're having a girls only dinner after the movie!

Don't these ladies look fabulous?! I am loving SJP's yellow dress and I don't think Cynthia Nixon has ever looked this stunning!
Here are just a few of my Sex and the City photos from our trip to NYC:

Buddakan - where Carrie and Big had their rehearsal dinner
Carrie's apartment

On Sunday, we are having the Smithwick Spring Shindig at our house. We've invited several of our friends to come and grill out. I am very excited to see everyone and to hang out.
And on Monday, we really don't have any plans. Perhaps we'll relax by the pool or do something fun.

So,what are your Memorial Day weekend plans?

And don't forget about my 1st Giveaway here. You only have 4 hours remaining...

This May Spoil It for You

Kelsey at The Seattle Smith's is skipping Wishful Wednesday this week; so, let me warn you...this post may be a spoiler for some.

Did you watch "The Biggest Loser" finale last night?

I was so upset. Koli was totally robbed and he so would have won! He lost 215lbs! Koli, I voted for you.

I was happy to see Michael win because he's worked so hard at losing 264lbs. I am really just glad that he beat Ashley and most of all Daris.

Daris' first girlfriend didn't look too happy to be called out. Or too happy for him. I wonder if she's just a fame seeker?

Can you believe Sam and Stephanie are still together? I think she was totally expecting a proposal. She actually looked great. But, what was up with Sam? Is he a security guard at night?

I was a little disappointed in Shay's weight loss. Seriously, only 52 pounds?! If Subway was offering me $1,000 per pound, I would have lost at least 100 pounds. You know she's got nutritionists and trainers. I'll be interested to see if she and Subway Jared actually run the marathon they've promised. She had better do it to double her money. What an opportunity of a lifetime?!

Sherry looked amazing, but Drea and Migdalia simply wasted their time being on the show. Why put in all of that time and effort if you're only going to lose 50 pounds? I think Drea was even a little embarrassed to step on the scale.

Melissa looked like a man. And why does Sunshine remind me of Jordin Sparks? In my opinion, Sherry won Best Dressed.

So, who were you impressed with? Who do you think should have won?

I'm really looking forward to Jillian Michaels' new show, "Losing It with Jillian". It will premiere next Tuesday, June 1. I'm excited to have something on tv to watch.

Besides Jillian's show, "The Bachelorette", and "Big Brother", is there anything I need to be watching on tv this summer? Anything I should rent?

In other news, I attended my 75th Jazzercise class of the year yesterday. Only 75 more to go to reach my goal! I kinda slacked and took the month of April off, but now, I'm back.

And for my Memphis girls, I read on Hungry Girl's Twitter that she will be in Memphis tomorrow (May 27). She'll be at the Borders on Poplar at 7pm. Anyone want to go?

Top 2 Tuesday: Dates

Top Two Dates

1. Our First Date:

Our first date was actually on Thanksgiving evening in 2008. We finished dinners with our families and met for a 7pm showing of "Stranger Than Fiction". After the movie, we went back to his apartment and hung out for a while. We'd been friends since July, but it wasn't until November that we actually had a date. That was the beginning of a beautiful relationship...

2. I don't think there's a better date than traveling and seeing the world with my very best friend and I plan on doing that for as long as we live...And coming in at a close third would be staying in, eating dinner and watching tv or movies with Fred and Knox.

So, what are your favorite two dates? Visit The Undomestic Momma and tell us!

Thank you for all of your sweet comments about Baby Landon. I didn't get a chance to go and see him yesterday, but you can bet I'll meet the little guy this weekend and have lots of pictures on Monday. Here's a picture of my mother-in-law with her newest grandbaby:

Did you know today was National Bike to Work Day?I would have loved to participate in this, but I live about 25 miles from my work and I would have had to leave the house at 5am just to make it to work by 8am. And then another 3 hour bike ride home. Did anyone participate?

I hope you all have a great weekend!! We're finally supposed to have a weekend without rain; so, I am super excited!!!

Thank you again to Jamie for the mini-makeover! And send me your questions!!

Thank you for all of the well wishes and prayers!!

More updates and pictures to come...

To participate in Thoughtless Thursday, visit Life in the Fulmer Lane.

Doesn't he just look so happy? I swear he is smiling.

Monday, when I came home, I noticed Knox had a new toy. Our maids bought him a ball and gave it to him. He loves it! They are the best and they are so sweet to him. I wonder how he acts with them in our home while we're not around. Man, I wish I had a camera.
(Please don't notice the stain on the rug from where I tried to get another stain out.)

Today, I am also doing my first-ever guest blogger entry at Curiosity. I love reading Cee's blog and I am so honored to be able to contribute. Head over here and read. It's a crazy story, but it's all true. And let me know how I did.

P.S. I am becoming an aunt today!!

Wishful Wednesday: Bedroom

'I wish' .... I could come home to this cozy, comfy bedroom every night!

I think this bedroom was actually used for the movie "The Holiday". Doesn't it look so warm and inviting? I just want to fling myself on the bed and into the pillows.

I love the gray/white/beige combo. It makes the room feel warm and inviting. I love the long nightstands. But, I would rip up all of the carpet and put in hardwood floors with a nice rug underneath the bed. And I'd have to get a little bench at the foot of the bed so Knox could jump up on it. And we'd have to have a rather large tv on the other wall. I know Dr. Oz says the bedroom should only be used for sleep and sex, but sometimes you just need to snuggle and watch tv or get cozy and read a good book.

Fred is dying for us to get a King sized bed. We've always said that we would get one, but we keep putting it off. He says that he wakes up with puppy paws in his back every night and that I take up more than my half of our queen. I find it all kind of funny because every time I wake up, he's snoring and none of his complaints seem to be bothering him.

Visit Kelsey and tell us what kind of bedroom you'd want to come home to every night.

Top 2 Tuesday: Before You Die

Top 2 Things to Do Before You Die

1. Take a Romantic Hot Air Balloon Ride - I'm not sure that this will ever happen since Fred is scared of heights, but I would like to at least get in a balloon and take a picture.

2. Go for a gondola ride in Venice, Italy with Fred and kiss under the Bridge of Sighs - I've been on a gondola ride twice in Venice, but never with someone special. The belief is that if you kiss your special someone underneath the bridge, you will have everlasting love. While the story may not be true, it would still be super romantic.
I'd also like to become a mother, stomp on grapes, and visit Egypt, Brazil, Ireland, Israel, Australia, Germany and many others.

So, what do you want to do before you die? Visit Taylor and tell us.

DJ, Play My Favorite Song

Happy Monday, y'all! I hope everyone had a GREAT weekend. We spent the majority of the weekend grilling out with our friends and family. There's nothing like a good cookout to put you in the summer spirit!!

And with summer fast approaching, I've been trying to compose my Summer 2010 playlist on my iPod. All parties need a soundtrack. I typically like songs that are upbeat and fun. Here are some songs that are currently on my playlist:

"Trinity" -- Paper Tongues
"I'll Never Be the Same" -- Timbaland (feat. Katy Perry)
"California Gurls" -- Katy Perry (feat. Snoop Dogg)
"This Afternoon" -- Nickelback
"Gold Guns Girls" -- Metric
"Undo It" -- Carrie Underwood
"Winner" -- Jamie Foxx (feat. Justin Timberlake)
"O.M.G" -- Usher (feat.
"Alejandro" -- Lady GaGa
"Rude Boy" -- Rhianna
"Animal" -- Neon Trees
"(If you're wondering if I want you to) I want you to" -- Weezer
"Heartache Tonight" -- Michael Buble
"Amercan Honey" -- Lady Antebellum
"Imma Be" -- Black Eyed Peas

I also like to mix a couple of oldies in with my new songs when I am at the pool or working out. So, what are you listening to? Is there something I need to add to my Summer 2010 playlist?

Junior League

I joined the Junior League of Memphis!! I am so excited. I've been thinking about JL for a while now and I did a lot of asking around about the Memphis chapter. Ask Laura and Laura if you don't believe me. They, along with several others, have been honest with me and have ultimately sold me on joining.

It was one of my oldest, dearest friends, Katie, who really got me thinking about joining. She's active in the New Orleans chapter and just raved about how great JL is! And then I read Gretchen's blog at The Holmes Home about she and Jacqueline from Swoff-House joined; so, I really started thinking.

If you've never heard of Junior League, it's kind of like a sorority for adult women. Their main focus is helping the community through mentoring, volunteering and training. You have a certain number of meetings you must attend and a certain number of volunteer events you must work. There is also a financial obligation.

My main concern for joining was that I wouldn't have enough time to devote to them because of my presidential duties with the Memphis ADPi Alumnae Association and life in general. Like anything in life, you have to make time for the things you've committed yourself to and that's what I plan to do. I also wondered if I was too old to join, but the average age of a provisional member is 28 and I am 27. So, age wise, I'll fit right in.

I'll spend my first year in the Junior League as a provisional member. I will spend the year learning the history of the JL and what it is that they do. I look forward to making a difference in my community and meeting some fabulous women!

If you live in the Memphis area, you too can join the Junior League of Memphis by clicking here. If you aren't in the Memphis area, Google your local JL chapter and get involved!

I was tagged by Chelsea at Cream & Cotton for the 8 x 8 game. This is where you go to your photos on your computer, find the 8th photo album, pick the 8th photo and tell about it. So, here we go...This picture was taken in Summer 2007. Yep, I had brown hair and I was 35+ pounds heavier. My, how things have changed. I swear we have clothes on, you just can't see them! This picture reminds me that 1) I never want to weigh that much again and 2) never dye my hair brown again. I never want to be this girl again. EVER!!

So, as you know, I am HORRIBLE at tagging people for things, but I am going to give it a try this time. Sorry if you've played before, but I am tagging:

Sweet Child of Mine

Kids can have four legs and fur. Here are pics to prove Knox is a child...

Knox in his baby bed on the couch. Literally minutes before he chewed a hole in it and took out all of the stuffing. My mother-in-law was nice enough to sew it back up for the little terror.

Since everyone posts pics of their children in the bath on their blog, here's my child. He hates the bath. Can you tell?

Here is Knox riding in his car seat on the way to dinner. We've been bad parents by letting him ride in our laps; so, we're trying to teach him to sit in the car seat, but he cried the entire ride.

Happy Thursday, everyone!! It's almost the weekend! To participate in "Thoughtless Thursday", visit Katie here.

Wishful Wednesday: Throw Away

'I wish' .... I hadn't thrown my chance to continue traveling the globe away!!

After I graduated from college, my friend, Laura, and I took a trip around Europe. Our trip was 30 days long and it started in London and ended in Athens, Greece. I had the chance to tag along with another group and travel for another month, but I was tired and ready to get home. And I missed my family. I had just moved back to Memphis from Tampa and was traveling through Europe all within a span of 14 days. My luggage had gotten lost on the first few days of the trip and I was just exhausted. Try living out of the same suitcase for a month.

I wish I wouldn't have been so stupid and just sucked it up and spent another month traveling the globe. If I could do it again, I would. I didn't have anywhere to be or anything to do. Now, I doubt I'll ever get that same chance.

I am grateful for the part of the trip I did go on. I had so much fun and met some really wonderful people.

So, what do you wish you wouldn't have thrown away? Visit Kelsey and tell us.

Top Two Tuesday: Dream Homes

Well, Fred and I live in our dream home for now. The only changes we'd make were to be a a bigger backyard for a pool and an outdoor kitchen. Here are some pictures of our house:

Our house in Fall 2008Our house this past winter
But, if we had several million dollars taking up room in our bank account, we'd buy these:

House on the beach in Hawaii
A Villa in the Italian countryside
