9 Weeks

How Far Along: 9 weeks

Size of Baby: Baby Smithwick is nearly an inch long — about the size of a green olive or grape — and weighs just a fraction of an ounce.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: No loss. No gain.

Maternity Clothes:
Regular clothes for now. I did go ahead and buy some skirts with an elastic waistband from Ann Taylor Loft last weekend while they were 40% off. I figured I'd need them soon.

Gender: We still have a ways to go before we find out. Check back in September.

Movement: No movement. It's too early.

Cravings: Strawberries, Mexican food and milk (but not together). I may or may not have had Mexican 7 times in the past 6 days.

Aversions: None, thankfully.

Symptoms: Hunger and fatigue. I'm also starting to get mini-headaches. Thankfully, I haven't had morning sickness.

Labor Signs: None. WAY too early.

What I Miss:
Sleeping on my tummy and back. I'm in the process of training myself to sleep on my sides. It isn't going so well.

What I'm Looking Forward To: Seeing the baby again next week!

Weekly Wisdom: Still Rest. Rest. Rest. And eat healthy snacks.

Best Moment This Week: Going to look at baby furniture and discussing baby names.

You're going to be really glad you have the elastic waists soon :)

Glad you're not having morning sickness!! Fatigue has been my biggest battle so far! (well, and one migraine but I try to forget that one.)

I've heard that the first trimester is the worst as far as fatigue goes, tired all the time is normal. :/

Yay for no morning sickness.

For the record I am almost 30 weeks and am STILL trying to train myself to sleep on my side!

Sounds like your rockin' the pregnancy :)

I had concerns about sleeping on my stomach and back--I'll wake up in the middle of the night and find myself in one of those positions. I see a 'high-risk' OB/GYN, so I asked about a remedy to the problem. He literally chuckled out loud. He said if I should end up in one of those positions during the night, my body will naturally wake me up before the point of causing harm to the baby! Hope that helps you rest easier ;)

I love these updates!!! You are so cute! Do you have a pregnancy pillow? That helped me with sleeping on my side...

My only furniture advice for you is order early...my crib took 4 months to arrive and was late at that...it almost did not make it in time! :)

Yeah for you! Keep the updates coming.

Looking good girl! You can definitely sleep on your back still. I slept on my back for a while last night because after a while the hip joints start getting really sore from just side-laying. Lay how you are comfortable and soon invest in a body pillow...they are magical ; )

You seriously look amazing! No loss, no gain is great! :) I love that you are craving Mexican. I'm not pregnant and could use an excuse to eat it often. Happy Friday lady!

My advice, sleep on your belly and back while you can!! You will know when it is time to stop. I miss it soooo much. I am 27 weeks with twins and at the point where it is so hard to sleep. Get in in while you can. Love the update!

It is super important to start sleeping on your left side when you can now. At the end of my pregnancy I was most comfortable sleeping on that side because he couldn't kick my ribs!
