I Could Not Ask for More

Happy Monday from sunny, warm Florida. (sorry, had to make you a little jealous) We had a great weekend and we're ready to kick off a great week.

On Friday, Fred and I went to see one of my favorite musicians, Edwin McCain. We had front row seats and I was so excited. We were so close that we could actually see his set list. When I caught a glimpse at it and it didn't have my favorite song, "Solitude" on it, I was a little upset. Fred and I both yelled out to him for a request, but no such luck. I was a little disappointed, but overall we had a great time and I enjoyed hearing "I'll Be" and "I Could Not Ask for More" live.

I can't believe Edwin cut off his long hair.

We managed to make friends with his opening act, Erick Baker. He was phenomenal and super sweet.

And Knox took his first plane ride Saturday. Yep, he made it! I was nervous the entire time, but he did great. He only let out a few yelps, but as long as I was petting his nose, he was good. Here's a pic of Knox on the plane mid-air:
On Sunday, we spent the day with my family (it's been long overdue). We drove around town. We took Knox for a walk (you wouldn't believe how many people stop and talk to you when you have a dachshund and want to talk about theirs). And finished the night off with a delicious meal at Tommy Bahama. Perfect for our beach getaway.

Did you happen to catch the SAG awards last night? Here's my take on the fashion:

Short Sleeved Dresses: NOT a fan!! These ladies look drab.

Blush Dresses: Loved and these women all looked gorgeous!

White Dresses: I love them, but I'm not feeling Amy Adams dress. And Winona's dress is like a wedding dress. But, isn't Natalie Portman the cutest thing?

Red Dress: Wow!! These ladies all looked ravishing in red!!

Plunging Necklines: Beautiful! I wish I could pull this off.

Patterned Dresses: I love Mila Kunis' dress, but the other's aren't my favorites. Since Claire was my top choice at the Golden Globes, I'm surprised she went with this dress.

My best dressed award goes to: Lea Michelle. So simple and elegant! Who do you think was best dressed? I can't wait to see what they all choose for the Oscars!

So, what did you do this weekend?

Dream On

I've always loved Aerosmith. But, I guess I'd forgotten about my love for them until I started watching "American Idol" that I fell in love again.
They played in the 2001 Superbowl Halftime Show (I was there, but more on that later) and it was amazing. Such rock legends.

For some reason I couldn't find my Aerosmith cd to put on my iPod; so, I had to download it from iTunes. Thank you, Steven Tyler for bringing back my love for you and for Aerosmith.

I hope all of you have a great weekend. I'll be rocking out to Aerosmith on our way to Florida (but we've got Edwin McCain tonight) and I'll be checking in with y'all from there. Happy Friday!

Dash Dolls

I never really got the silly bandz craze. Maybe it's because I'm not a tween and prefer to wear nicer jewelry than colored rubber bands. But, I recently saw that the Kardashian sisters have their own silly bandz. Have y'all seen these?
Here are my thoughts:
1. I love them, but these girls are fame whores!
2. Does Kim's butt need to be any bigger than it already is?
3. Are the Kardashians really wearing their silly bandz?
4. What's next? "Jersey Shore" silly bandz (don't steal my idea, I want royalties)?

What do y'all think? Will you wear the Kardashian silly bandz?

The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly

The Good: We're leaving for Florida in 2 days.
The Bad: I've yet to pack a thing.
The Ugly: I normally start packing at least a week in advance. I can only imagine what how chaotic it will be when I finally do start packing. Oh, my!

The Good: It's almost time for Knox's first plane ride.
The Bad: Knox has yet to embrace the "bye, bye bag".
The Ugly: I have to take him to the vet today for his yearly visit and to get a health certificate so that he can travel. He'll hate me after being poked and prodded.

The Good: I saw a commercial for Subway the other day and it looked so good that I had to go there for lunch. (I went to the one near my house)
The Bad: Our Subway near work smells. The place smells. The food smells. And you smell after eating it.
The Ugly: I don't get to have Subway and it's deliciousness (is that a word?) too often. It's so yummy (and healthy)!

The Good: It's Thursday!!
The Bad: I thought yesterday was Thursday!
The Ugly: I woke up thinking today was Friday and it's only Thursday. I hate when this happens.

So, what's your "good, bad and ugly" today??

Top 2 Tuesday: Healthy Recipes and Snack Ideas + a Birthday Wish

Top 2 Healthy Recipes and Snack Ideas

1. Apples: My favorite snack is an apple. I love the juicy ones and while I typically prefer a Gala apple, I've recently been turned on to the Jazz apples (thanks, Jaclyn). I love them! I love apples when they're used for cooking too. I could probably eat an entire Apple Brown Betty from Fresh Market. Yum!
2. Pop Chips: They are the greatest "chip" on the planet. My favorite flavor is the BBQ. They go great with burgers or hot dogs. Sometimes, we'll just eat them with chicken or just for a snack.

What are some of your favorite healthy snacks or recipes? Visit Taylor at The Undomestic Momma and tell us. I can't wait to see what you guys choose. :)

And "Happy Birthday" to my beautiful momma. She is my ultimate role model. She's one of my best friends. When I grow up, I want to be just like her. I love her so much and I can't wait to see her on Saturday. Happy Birthday, Momma!!!

Food, Family, Fashion, Fitness & Fun

Happy Monday, everyone. It's less than a week before we head to Florida and I'm so excited. But, we had a great weekend.

On Saturday, Fred and I took his mom and dad out for sushi to celebrate his mom's birthday. Here are some pics:

As I told you on Friday, I did the Bob Harper's "Yoga for Warriors" and it was a great workout. Well, I was at Target and saw Jillian Michaels' "Yoga Meltdown". I had to buy it. Neely told me it was great.
I got home and immediately tried it out. I must say, it worked me. It's more for beginners than Bob's was and it's only 30 minutes (per workout) as opposed to Bob's full hour. I started with Level 1 and it was a workout. I can't wait to see what Level 2 has in store.

I also found these great panties that don't ride up while you're working out. Victoria's Secret has specially made these Yoga Panties that are seamless, no-show, and perfect under yoga pants. I recommend you try a pair. I love mine.

I even managed to cook a delicious dinner. I heard about this simple pork tenderloin recipe from my friend and I couldn't wait to try it. Click here for the recipe.
We also watched 2 movies:
The Social Network: Great movie and very interesting since I am highly addicted to Facebook. We really enjoyed it.
Dinner for Schmucks: This movie was not very good. It had some funny parts, but it was quite strange.

So, what did you do??

Stylin' + Profilin'

Congratulations to Lindsey from Mr. and Mrs. Smith! You are the winner of the iPod shuffle from my 400 Followers Giveaway! Please email me within 24 hours to claim your prize!

{Winner chosen by - entry #116}
Thank you to Aly for snagging Lindsey's comment for me!

And since it snowed again here yesterday, I decided to break out my }Bob Harper Yoga for the Warrior" dvd. OMG!! It was tough. This is definitely not for beginners. You need to know a little something about yoga before you start. The moves and stretches were great and I'm a little sore this morning. If you like yoga, this is a great dvd.

And I am loving "American Idol" this year!!! JLo and Steven Tyler are awesome. It also looks like it's going to be a great season. Are you watching? And I must say Jennifer Lopez has never looked better. She is beautiful! :) I'm loving her hair, clothes and make up.

Since we're on the subject of fashion, I'd like to send a special thank you to several of you who tagged me with the "Stylish Blogger Award". If you've been following me for a while, you know I'm horrible at reposting and answering these. I don't know what it is? But, thank you very much and I appreciate you following me day in and day out.

So, without further adieu, here are 7 stylish things about myself/philosophies/deals:

1. I wear jeans almost every day. I work in a very casual environment; so, I get to wear what's comfortable. My favorite jeans this year have been my Jessica Simpson skinny jeans. So comfy and cute!

2. Fashion icons I adore include Reese Witherspoon, Jessica Simpson, Carrie Underwood, Lauren Conrad and Jennifer Anniston.

3. If I could switch places with one person in the fashion industry for one single day, I would choose Anna Wintour. She's the editor-in-chief of Vogue. She has the entire fashion world at her fingertips. And if you haven't seen The September Issue, you should.

4. I could not live without my sunglasses. I love them. I have like 10 pair. And at least one of them is always in my purse.

5. Like I mentioned yesterday, I just came across Nordstrom Rack online. Great clothes, but with a discount. And if you want to do some online shopping, sign up for Ebates. You get a percentage of your purchase back and they have great coupons. You can also tell them that I sent you.

6. I mainly wear flats. You'd think with a husband who's 6'6" I'd rock the heels, but I am much more comfortable in flats.

7. And I even try to match my clothes when I work out. My sports bra and top will always match. It's an OCD thing.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

The Bye, Bye Bag

Knox is getting ready for his first airplane rideHe's learning that his "Bye, Bye Bag" is HISHe's not a fanBut, I did catch him checking it out.
Knox just has no clue that the bag is a good thing. He thinks it's torture. Do you have any tips for flying with a pet?
