Thankful Thursday

I am so excited to be linking up with two of my favorite bloggers, Jamie and Julia, for "Thankful Thursdays" for the first time today.

I am thankful for the opportunity to spend my 3 year anniversary with my husband in the Dominican Republic. We look forward to total relaxation and rejuvenation. This trip is just what we need! I am thankful for my beautiful parents, who are finally coming home this weekend after being away for three months. I'm an only child; so, this has been hard to have my parents and grandfather so far away. I am thankful for all of my beautiful, wonderful blog followers. You guys let me discuss my personal issues, you give feedback on things and you can always bring a smile to my face!

I truly feel that I have so many things to be thankful for. I lead a blessed life and although at times, it may seem hard, it's always blessed. I am thankful for this link up right now because it makes you stop and think about all of the little things that make a difference.

What are you thankful for? Link up and tell us!

What I'm Loving Wednesday!

I'm loving Miss Britney Spears' performance on GMA yesterday! Did ya see it?!

I'm loving Extra Mint Chocolate Chip gum. I know it's been out for a while, but the other night, I needed something sweet and something to freshen my breath. This did the trick. I'm loving that Reese Witherspoon recently tied the knot with Jim Toth. I hope we get to see photos of the bride and groom. Oh, how I would have loved to have been at that wedding. I'm loving that I am almost finished with my provisional year in Junior League. I'm loving that Sweet Vallet Confidential was just released. Think Sweet Valley High 10 years later. It'll make for a great beach read. I'm loving that I will be here in a week with my hubby. Ahhh... I'm loving that I've been married to this man for almost 3 years! What are you loving? Top 2 Tuesday: Celebrity Hairstyles

Top 2 Celebrity Hairstyles

1. Jessica Simpson: The girl has great hair. I love her with long, blonde locks! Granted I too could have hair like this if I had her extensions and Ken Paves. 2. Carrie Underwood: I love this hairstyle, but it may be because she was my recent inspiration. I love the layers and the curls! What are your favorite celebrity hairstyles? Monday Musings

Hi, everyone! I just want to say how touched I was by everyone's comments on Friday. You don't know how much it means to me. I wasn't sure I wanted to discuss details of my life so much, but I know there are other women out there dealing with the same issues and I want them to know that they are not alone. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kind words, thoughts and prayers.

So, what did you do this weekend? We did a whole bunch of nothing other than eating and watching tv. It was too cold and rainy to really get much else done outside of the house. I guess I should have used my time more wisely instead of being a couch potato, but sometimes you just need a weekend of doing nothing!
I've got to hit the gym this week hard because I'll be in a swimsuit in a week. Yikes!!! It's now go time!

And remember about a month ago when Fred and I went to Oscar Night America benefitting the Ronald McDonald House? Well, we made it into one of the local Memphis magazies.

And I've recently discovered that at the bottom of most reciepts to retail stores, there is a survey you can take online to get a discount on your next purchase. Here's one from Victoria's Secret:Have you ever noticed this? Well, now you can shop and save! :)

Also, I'm looking for a few guest bloggers to blog for me while I'm away. Please email me at carolinesmithwick@gmail.com if you're interested. Thanks!

Is That a Monet?

On Tuesday night, Leslie, Emily and I went to our very first paint party (you may be familiar with the term "sips and strokes"). You pay $40 and all of the materials are provided. You can also bring in your own wine and snacks to enjoy while painting.
Here's my finished product
And of course, the infamous group photo. We had a great girl's night out. You don't have to be Picasso to go. The instructions are simple and our instructor was willing to help if you needed her. If you have something like this in your town, I highly recommend going.

If you live in the Memphis area, we went to GoGirl Art at Buckley's Lunch Box. These classes fill up FAST!

Say What?!

What a crazy week?! On Monday, I learned that I did not ovulate and was a little down about that. I was told this is common, but not to give up hope. Whatever?! Y'all also know about all of the changes I've been making this week. And I've gotten a lot of resistance from it over the past few days.

But yesterday, I was having some terrible abdomen pain. My first thought was a cyst. And after my surgery, I am terrified of cysts. I have an appointment with my doctor on Tuesday, but I decided to call anyway. They got me in and I found out some very interesting information...

1. I have a small cyst on my left ovary.
2. I had a small cyst on my right ovary, but it ruptured. OUCH!!
3. The Clomid may not be working like it should since my progesterone test was so low. Fail.
4. And I'm ovulating. WAIT?! WHAT?! Day 26?!

Yep, I'm just now ovulating. I even decided to take one of these stupid OPK tests when I got home and yep, I am ovulating. (I call them stupid because I never saw a little smiley face until today).

This is NOT a pregnancy test. This is an ovulation stick. I repeat, I am not pregnant (yet).

So, thank you for all of your thoughts, prayers and sweet words. They have helped get me this far. I feel recharged and ready to take on this journey.

I go back to the doctor on Tuesday for my annual and to discuss what the next plan of action will be if I am not pregnant. I am so excited and trying to savor every bit of excitement through this journey (and trying to forget the disappointments).

I know this post may have been a little TMI since I don't normally discuss details of our journey towards expanding our family. But, I want to reassure everyone that God is good all of the time, even if it's one small step.

Now, here's to baby making! Ha! Happy Weekend!

Spring Cleaning

This is the first official week of Spring and I guess I felt like there was a bit of "Spring Cleaning" I needed to do. No, it wasn't throwing out clothes or papers, but I needed some rearranging of things in my life.

After a well thought-out decision, I have left my beloved Jazzercise center. It's been a long time coming; but, it's still hard to leave the familiar people, places and things.

I hadn't done this earlier because, well, I was scared. I don't like confrontation. But, it's my time to depart; so, I had to suck it up, put my big girl panties on and do it.

Yes, I am a little scared about leaving. Yes, I am scared that I won't "fit in" at another center, but I'm not there for anyone else other than ME!

Although it is scary, I'm excited about new classes, teachers and opportunities. You never know where this may lead. And if it doesn't work out, I can always move on to something else.

I guess with all of this going on, I decided to suck it up and call my old doctor's office, who I've been avoiding for months, and ask for my records. And I really don't appreciate it when I was asked why I wanted them. Ummm, because they're MINE!!!

So, this is a new beginning for me and I look forward to what the future holds. Have you ever had to do anything like this before?

Top 2 Tuesday: Dream Rooms

Top 2 Dream Rooms

I would love to have a big, beautiful home office just like Khloe Kardashian Odom. I love the colors and the textures used. I could definitely see myself working from home in this environment.

And of course, I would love to have a beautiful nursery (or two).

Hello Monday

Why does Monday always come around faster than Friday?

So, how was your weekend? If you were paying any attention to March Madness this weekend, you already know that my Memphis Tigers and Tennessee Vols both lost in the 2nd round of the NCAA tournament. Friday was a pretty sad day. But, thank goodness for the Internet because I was able to watch the games at work.

We had a great weekend otherwise. We spent most of it with friends and we were able to take advantage of the beautiful weather and cook out. It's something about warmer weather and sunshine that seems to bring everyone out of hibernation.

I finally got a chance to see "Life as We Know It" last night. This movie is so stinking cute! And it doesn't hurt that Josh Duhamel is one of the main characters (he's in my Top 5).

This week is going to be crazy busy. But I'll have time to relax in two weeks when we're in the Dominican Republic. :)

So, what did you do this weekend?

Feelin' Lucky

Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone!! I hope you're all wearing something GREEN today (or else you'll get pinched)!

This is my 29th St. Patrick's Day and I've never had a green beer. I think that needs to change today, but I might choose green wine! Have you ever had green beer or wine?

Here's to a safe and fabulous St. Patrick's Day! May you find your pot o' gold at the end of your rainbow!
