Fall in Love: Fashion

Today, I'm linking up with Big City Belle for her "Fall in Love" series. I think the fact that we're going to Chicago in a few days has really given me fall fever! So, here are a few outfits I wouldn't mind having this fall:

Love the layers and the coral (and Starbucks is always a nice touch)

Nautical stripes and tan accessories...yes, please.

Comfy yet chic
I LOVE this scarf from Old Navy!

Love these Tory Burch Selma riding boots!!

Miscellany Monday

I spent most of the weekend shopping with my mom. It was great to get some girl time in as well as some retail therapy.

Fred and my dad played in a kickball tournament on Saturday while my mom and I were shopping. I bet it was a sight to see. Now, both of them are "so sore".

We've started training Knox for his "2011 Running of the Weenies" race. He does great at home, but his ADD usually kicks in at the race and he's more interested in other dogs than running!

After the hustle and bustle of last week, I am excited for a calm week ending with seeing Train in concert on Friday and heading to Chicago on Saturday for the long weekend! Now, if I could just get motivated to pack!

Over the past few days, I've been getting very excited about fall. I think I'm ready for Starbucks, pumpkins and cooler weather!

What's on your mind?

"Fore" a Great Cause

As I mentioned on Wednesday, I helped out with the Memphis ADPi Alumnae Association's 23rd Annual Ronald McDonald House Benefit Golf Tournament.

Our tournament was held at Mirimichi Golf Course (Justin Timberlake's course). We had over 90 golfers come out to play.

All proceeds from our tournament help provide a "Home-Away-from-Home" for the families with children receiving treatment at St. Jude.

Even Ronald McDonald made an appearance!

And even though Justin didn't show, his step dad played.

We believe that we were able to raise over $20,000 for the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis. I love being able to help out such a great cause!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving that today I am at the 23rd Annual Ronald McDonald House of Memphis Benefit Golf Tournament hosted by the Memphis Alpha Delta Pi Alumnae Association.

Last year, we raised over $18,000 for the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis.

This year's tournament is being held at Mirimichi Golf Course (Justin Timberlake's course - I'm hoping he'll make a surprise appearance). And we're hoping to raise more than last year.

Wish us luck!

Tail Wagging Tuesday: Funniest Picture

Today's Topic: Funniest Picture

I don't know if it's when I put him in a stocking and tried to take his pic...

or a picture of him swimming in the lake with his life jacket on (which he hates)...

or when he got into the laundry basket and had my shorts out and Fred's boxers around his body...

or when he was only sticking out his nose on the airplane.

The child cracks me up!

The Drive In

Meet Hank. I don't know if Hank is even his real name, but that is what I call him. Isn't he cute?

While most of you are stuck in traffic jams, this is what I get to see on my way to work. Interesting, huh? (there used to be miniature ponies and peacocks, but I haven't seen either in a while)

I work about 25 miles north of Memphis and I have two stop lights. It's an interesting drive especially when you get to see a camel on a daily basis.

Do you see anything interesting on your way to work?

When Yes Becomes No

One of my resolutions last year was to start saying "yes" more. I was thinking that perhaps I was missing out on something that I might enjoy if I kept saying "no".

Well, I've been doing a lot of this lately. And it's not always a good thing.

Yesterday, I had to step back and tell someone that I could not do something that I previously agreed to do. It is a large task and right now, I'm just not ready to take on that much responsibility. Fortunately, they were very understanding of my circumstances and very considerate about the whole thing.

If you know me, you know I am constantly running around and doing things. But, for this particular event, I had to step back. I need to be more of a follower than a leader at this point. I think I have enough stress on me trying to get back to a "normal" life.

It made me happy that they were so understanding, but I did worry that they wouldn't "like" me anymore or trust me to do anything and follow through next time. I hate not following through with something.

I didn't want to add any stress to my life, but I don't want to be known as the "girl who doesn't follow through". Does this make any sense or am I the only one who struggles with this?

Soaking Wet

Friday night, Fred and I had date night. He took me to see the Goo Goo Dolls, Michelle Branch and Parachute at Live at the Garden.
At Live at the Garden, you can bring in your own food and drink while you listen to great music. We picked up some Pei Wei and some drinks and headed for a night of great music and lots of fun. The weather was much cooler than it had been; so, it was the perfect night for an outdoor concert (or so we thought).

Here are some pictures from our date night:

{waiting for the show to begin}

{Michelle Branch - Amazing!}

{The Goo Goo Dolls - one of my favorites}
Too bad the Goo Goo Dolls only got to play 5 songs before the bottom fell out of the sky. Let's just say that we haven't had rain in forever and it just had to come this night. Fred and I were two songs too late on leaving before we got soaked. But, we didn't care. We still had fun!

Here are the after pics:

{maybe I shouldn't have worn a white shirt...oops!}

{Fred was awesome carrying everything and finding the car so quickly}
Even though we got soaked, we still had a blast! I love date nights with my hubby! The rest of our weekend was dry and fun as well! What did you do?
