We Clean Up Nicely

Hello, Monday!  Merry Marketplace is finally over!  Whew!  It was actually a lot of fun and it helped that my partner was one of my best friends.  I am really pleased with my placement in Junior League this year.

Saturday afternoon, Fred and I were shopping at the mall when we realized Steve Madden would be making an appearance.  I called my friend, Kendra, and we got autographs and photos with one of my favorite shoe designers.  Too bad he looked like he was pissed to be there and didn't say much.

Saturday night, Fred and I attended a wedding for one of my oldest friends.  It was a beautiful wedding!

We had a great weekend and now we're on to busy week #3!

And I can't forget to wish all of you a Happy Halloweenie!

A Little Q&A

I know we all love a good Q&A session. So, I thought it would be exciting to do a post where you can ask me anything you want. I'll answer your questions and post answers next week.

I've seen this on a few other blogs and it's so fun to get to know the blogger better and even learn new things.

Nothing is off limits! Marriage, our journey to expanding our family, fashion, friendships, blogging, etc.

So, ask away...

It's Ok...

It's ok...

to turn the wrong way out of your neighborhood because you thought you should be going to set up for Merry Marketplace instead of going to work.  Oops!

to look forward to next week because there might be more sleep in your future.
to wish you were home snuggled on the couch with your pup on this cloudy, cold day.

to get all dressed up and go to a gala on a Thursday night (and drag your hubby along).

to buy Halloween candy at the last minute because you know you'd eat it if it was in the house.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving this Halloween light show! It's to the tune of "Thriller" and it's awesome!

I'm loving that the fall temps are finally here and I can start wearing some of my fall clothes!

I'm loving that decorating for Merry Marketplace is almost complete! If you live in the Memphis area, I hope you can attend!  It's going to be fabulous!

I'm loving caffeine! It's helping me stay awake and have the energy I need to make it through this week!  My drink of choice:  Diet Coke!

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like...

Happy Monday, everyone!  I think I blinked and October is almost over.  Can you believe it?  This has been one busy month!

On Friday, Fred and I hauled some stuff to my parent's new lake house for them.  We brought Knox along for the ride.  The new place is really looking great.  Too bad we couldn't spend more time there this weekend.

 {Knox supervising}

Saturday morning, we drove back to Memphis and I went to help set up for the Junior League of Memphis' Merry Marketplace.  It starts this Thursday and since I'm on the decorations committee, it's my job to help decorate and tear down.

It's really beginning to look a lot like Christmas with all of these ornaments!

Christmas trees are up and ready to be decorated!
We also made wreaths and bows and wrapped TONS of boxes.  My little hands are already tired.  :)  So, if I am not around very much this week, you know what I'll be doing!  And if you live in the  Memphis area, stop by Merry Marketplace!  It'll be great!

Lastly, I wanted to share this Christmas lawn goodie with you...
Are you serious Wal-Mart?

Dear 16 Year Old Self...

I recently saw this on Jax's blog and I thought it would be fun  I think several of you have already done this, but better late than never, right?

I was 16 in 1998 and I thought I knew it all.  But, I was so wrong.  So, this is what I'd say to my 16 year old self...

.*Keep running and exercising like you do.  All of the pizza and Taco Bell in the years to come will catch up to you.

*Every guy you date will NOT be Mr. Right.  But you WILL find him and he will be more than you ever dreamed.

*Don't let other people drive your car or wear you clothes.  They won't always come back in one piece.

*Study harder and try more advanced classes.  You're smart.

*Cherish every moment with your family.  They won't always be around.

*Learn to cook from your grandmother.  If you don't, you'll never know how to make the things you love.

*Don't waste high school wishing you were in college.  Try to make the best of it.

*Pay more attention in Spanish.  It'll be a great tool to have down the road.

*Life doesn't always end up the way you thought it would at a certain age, but that's ok.  Just learn to make the best of it.

*Don't cut your hair.  The bob and flip are not cute on you.  You'll regret not growing your hair out sooner.

*Your parents are some of the smartest and best people you will ever meet.  Listen to them.

*Travel while you can (and while your parents are still willing to pay for it)!

*Don't try and be Britney Spears.  She winds up trashy, divorced with 2 kids and still a little slutty.  But, you will always love her!

What would you say to your 16 year old self?

It's Ok...

It's Ok...

To be excited that it's already Thursday! Gotta love short "in the office" weeks!

To be excited about the warmer temps coming back!  I'm not ready for winter!

To laugh hysterically while watching Bridesmaids!  Hilarious!  This was the funniest movie I've seen in a LONG time!
 To be so far behind in watching movies that you just watched Bridesmaids!

To be happy about sunshine!  I just can function on cloudy/rainy days!

To finally jump on the Pandora bandwagon and have something to listen to at work.
Currently playing:  Gin Blossoms Radio!

To welcome our new nephew into the world...

What I'm Loving Wednesday

I'm loving that the St. Louis Cardinals are headed to the World Series TONIGHT!  Go Cards!

I'm loving that today is a good soup kind of day!  I love having a great cup of soup on a cold, cloudy day!

I'm loving my new iPhone 4S!  It's so easy to use and super fast!

I'm loving that Fred and I got to go to Louisville for work this week.  We had a great time networking and learning more about the boating industry.

And I'm loving being back home with this little guy!  I always miss him so much when we're gone!

And the Band Played On

Happy Monday, everyone!  October is turning out to be one BUSY month, but it's been great!  Here's what we did this weekend:

{On Friday, we celebrated Kendra's birthday - today is her actual birthday}

{we finally got our new iPhones 4S - after waiting until 7pm}

I love my new iPhone.  It's so fast and this Siri thing is awesome.  It's so easy to use!  Did anyone else get one?
If you know anything about me, you know I love music and live music.  My favorite genre of music is pop rock/alternative, especially 90's pop rock and alternative.   So, Fred surprised me with tickets to see one of my favortie bands, the Gin Blossoms, in West Memphis, Arkansas (just over the bridge).  I'd never seen them live before so this was awesome!

{us before the concert}

{we were front row}

{I even got to play the tambourine with the band - eventhough I'm the most tone deaf person}

{and I got to meet the lead singer, Robin - LOVE IT!}

Pretty cool, huh?  What did you do this weekend?
