Destination Unknown

Our 4th wedding anniversary is almost 2 months away and it's time to start thinking about a quick getaway for just the two of us.  If you've been reading my blog for some time, then you know we love to travel.  We've been to Vegas, NYC, Hawaii, Mexico, Jamaica, and Italy just to name a few.
This year we were thinking somewhere in the continental 48 states that is somewhat warm in early April and has a beach and/or pool.  Here's some of the places we're looking:

Key West, Florida

Palm Springs, California

San Diego, California

Do you have any suggestions for any of these destinations?  And where are you planning your next vacation?

Definitely Key West! It is unlike anywhere in the world. It is the essence of relaxation, and one of the few places you can walk around with drinks in hand from shop to shop. Plus, nothing says vacation like Jimmy Buffet ;)

We loved Key West when we went a few years ago & stayed in the cutest Bed & Breakfast! The key lime pie is outta this world and there are tons of places to see, things to do & entertainment. That would be my pick ;-)

I want to go to all three of those places! :) Can't wait to see what you're going to pick!!!

Key West is a fun place to go and so beautiful! It was one of our stops on a cruise I was on a couple years ago! I've heard great things about San Diego too!

We never really got to go on a honeymoon, seeing my husband had pilot training so we are planning this fall to go on an all inclusive tropical vacation either puerto rico, dominican republic or somewhere warm and relaxing!

Have fun researching fun destinations!

I went to San Diego in late March last year for Spring Break and it was freezing :/ I'd suggest Key West if you want to enjoy the beach! However, there are a lot of fun things to do in San Diego if you want activities, especially the San Diego Zoo! And I went kayaking in La Jola (sp?) in the ocean and that was really neat.

Well, it looks like I'm going to join in with the masses and suggest Key West! It really is beautiful and a fun atmosphere!

If you want warm, go with Florida! I'm already counting down the days to our vacation - we're taking the girls to Disney World in September!

Hello Caroline,

I have been to Key West and that was a great trip. I have also traveled to different cities in California.

I have never been to San Diego
and would really love to visit there.

My cousin lives there now and loves it. I hope to be able to attend her wedding this coming September.

If you choose San Diego, I will have to give you her contact information so that you can be pampered by her at her La Jolla studio(she is an esthetician.

Enjoy making plans for your trip.

Being from FL (as you know), I have to say I'm not big on Key West..I feel like it's more of a party spot than a place to relax. Just my personal opinion. I guess it depends where exactly you are, but I say either spot in CA would be awesome!

How fun! They all sound like great options! Let us know what you pick!

I was hoping you'd say Nashville...ha!

You can't go wrong with CA! We loved San Diego and Santa Barbara!

We went to Palm Springs in 2010 and loved it! We stayed at the Willows Historic and it was gorgeous. I wish we could've been there longer.

Our 4th anniversary is this year as well! We are working on our trip too.

Key West is beautiful! I've heard great things about Scottsdale, AZ, have you all been there?

I have been to all of the places and here is my take:

skip San Diego - blah

Key West has the bluest water, the warmest most wonderful beaches, great sunsets, lots and lots of alcohol. Its a party atmosphere, So if you want to kick back, wear only t'shirts and flips and have a drinking good time, definately do KW! :)

Palm Springs (my fav) has PINK sunsets EVERY night, the smell of the desert is heaven, great shopping, hiking, climbing, wonderful golfing and food, and close enough to LA/Hollywood that you can day trip there. Personally, and this will sound totally like 'what the heck is she nuts' but trust me, - if you go, stay at the Lawrence Welk Desert Oasis. They have an adults only pool and the suites are upscale. There is definately a demarcation line between kids and adults, which is nice. :) PS is more of an outdoorsy type vacation, but the susets make it super romantic, and my fav memory was floating in the pool (80*) at 10 pm staring at the stars - a gazillion of them b/c its so dark there at night. Heaven, just romantic heaven!

Maybe I didnt know where to go since I was only in Key West for one day on a cruise but I didnt like it at all! But so many people seem to love it, so maybe I just didnt know where the good spots were. I couldnt find a good beach and that was a MUST!

I live in SD and it might not be super warm in early April but you'll have plenty to do. The beaches are still very nice even when it's not really warm and I could recommend some killer things to do if you needed it. :-)

San Diego!!!

Key West!!! I just spent 4 days in FL and it was a.maz.ing. I've heard nothing but great things about Key West. My mom goes there once a year and absolutely loves it.

From those places I would chose San Diego. If you are ever looking for a great place to visit you need to check out Bermuda. I have been twice and it is wonderful!

San Diego! It is such a fun town with lots to do. I celebrate my bday there every year and love it.

If you want to relax, Palm Springs is fabulous. If you want a little more to do, San Diego is the ticket. I love both!

If you're wanting to have fun and do some activities then I totally agree with others on California. If you've never done LA it's great! San Diego and San Fran are also FABULOUS!
