A New Beginning....

As you know, we began our journey to parenthood over 2 1/2 years ago.  To say this road hasn't been easy for us would be an understatement.

Earlier this month, we began the IVF process.  Unfortunately, it was unsuccessful.  But, we have one frozen embryo that we can use within the next two years.

Where do we go from here?

We've prayed about it and we feel that God is leading us in a new direction...

We are so excited to announce that we are ADOPTING!
We are in the very beginning stages of the adoption process.  We're currently looking into adopting a newborn domestically.  We know we could love and provide for ANY child.  We also know this process could take us anywhere from several months to a few years to finally bring home our bundle of joy, but we are just so excited.

The whole adoption process seems so overwhelming right now; so, if you have any words of advice or encouragement, please send them our way.

God has blessed us in so many areas of our lives and we know that he will continue to do so as we strive to create our little family.  We just can't wait to meet our beautiful son or daughter!

i was going to ask you how it went..i say GO FOR IT!!! no matter what, God is going to bless you and Fred with a family because you two will make incredible parents.

as far as adoption, i have friends who did it and rave about how well the process went. a lady i used to work with made a scrapbook to give potential birth moms a peak into their life to see what they were like and how badly they wanted a family

thinking about you lady!! hang in there and know you have a great deal of love and prayers coming your way

I've been reading your blog for a few months now, but this might be one of the first times I've commented- Hi!

I'm so happy for you and your future family- I just had to add my experience and thoughts. My cousins were both adopted, and I have loved them every day of their life like they are my own brothers. It gets me teary-eyed everytime I think about how responsible their mothers were, giving up their child so that they could have a better life and a family that could support them. And we have loved them and taken care of them every single day, hardly ever thinking about the fact that they are adopted.

My husband and I aren't ready for kids, but when we are, adoption is something we want to look in to. I think it's so great for people to have that option for their babies, and I would be honored to give a baby a home and a life that he wouldn't be able to have otherwise.

Good luck, and I'll be praying for you!

Yay, Caroline! This is awesome, and I know whatever baby God brings your way will be blessed to have you and Fred as parents. I know some people who have adopted domestically, so please let me know if you'd like to be connected to any of them!

Omg Caroline, that is so exciting!!!!!! My partner at work, Nikki, has two older siblings who are adopted and then her parents miraculously had a third child naturally (after years of thinking they were infertile!). And then 18 years later... my friend Nikki was born :). So all things happen for a reason and this will be such a blessing for the child you adopt!!! Congratulations :)

I am in tears reading this post! I'm so happy for y'all! Adoption is soooo close to my heart, and I have so much respect and admiration for people who choose to go on that journey. The biggest thing I learned through my time working for the adoption agency and something that I always pass on to couples new to adoption is this: God is preparing the perfect child for your family. Just trust that He is in control and that His timing is perfect. I saw time and time again just how perfect His plan is. I'll be praying for y'all!

Emily said...
