Office Space

With an impending adoption on the horizon, we're making some changes around the house.

Our first order of business is to move our home office from downstairs into a bedroom upstairs.  We want our baby's room to be on the bottom floor; so, the office has to go.  And since we're not quite sure when the adoption would take place, there's no time like the present.

In the move, I'm thinking I want to do something a little different than just your standard, blah office.  I want to make it more user friendly and more up-to-date.  So, here are some of my inspirations for our new home office:
Do you have any ideas or simple ways to update our home office?

Color is the easiest (and most inexpensive) way to update any space. Keep the bones of your office, but maybe add new window treatments, a rug, new/different lampshade(s), accent pieces, and most importantly do not forget to paint the walls! :)
I LOVE decorating...have so much fun, and I cannot wait to see the finished product!

I LOVE that first office! I wish we had a separate space for an office..right now our is sort of clumped in with the family room. I would love to do something cute like this!

The first one with the pink is gorgeous, but here's my two cents. Avoid putting the desk by the window. The sun is either blinding (last house) or super hot (this house). I finally moved my stuff into the closet.

The rug in the third picture is totally in my living room! That kind of makes me feel like I have a little bit of style. Haha. I really like the first one, although I agree with whomever mentioned not putting the desk by the window.

The first one is so inspiring! Paint and window treatments are instant renovators. If you have an Ikea anywhere near by...they have very, very affordable wall frames that look high dollar but cost next to nothing!
