Runners (and a Future Runner) for Boston

Last night, Fred and I (along with my parents) took Eli to the "Runners for Boston" fundraiser and rally at our local Fleet Feet Sports store.  This was Eli's first time to get out in his stroller and hit the streets in his first real run.  It was a beautiful night and the turnout was amazing.  I loved seeing all of the blue and yellow.
Fred, Eli and I were decked out in our best blue and yellow for the run.
Fred was kind enough to let me run the 3.1 mile course and then meet up with he and Eli later. Oddly enough, I got my 4 miles in for the day exactly.

It's times like these I love being a runner and part of a wonderful running community.   And it's times like these when we can experience something together as a family.  It's really a dream come true.

Here's a pic of Eli after the run.  I think he enjoyed himself.
Did your city host any runs in support of the Boston Marathon?

And I received word late yesterday that I got 3rd place in the planking competition.  I was actually pretty shocked.  The winner planked for 8 minutes and 11 seconds.  Wow!  Although I didn't win, I still received a free Lululemon headband.  :)   Ironically, I've never tried one of their headbands.  Any ones you guys prefer?

So fun that you took Eli for his first run!! So cute that he loved it. And congrats on the planking contest. I've never had one of their headbands before, but I love everything I have from lulu so I'm sure they're great too!

That's so awesome that ya'll did that. Love the family photo! As far the lululemon headbands, make sure you get one that has the grips on the inside. I have two different ones and of the two that's my favorite. :)
