Race for the Summitt 4-miler

As I mentioned on Friday, I've started running again.  Last week, I also enlisted Christin to help me come up with a running plan to get back in the swing of things.  She mapped out a plan and we had discussed that I would run 4 miles on Saturday.

I noticed she posted something on Instagram about the Race for the Summitt 4-miler planned for Saturday so I asked her if she thought I should run.  She said yes and even said she'd pace me.  I was nervous and excited.
The race was pretty cool.  It covered parts of midtown and downtown Memphis.  The course was super hilly and it was quite windy out.  There were parts when I wanted to stop, but having Christin there to push me and encourage me helped me finish.

My time wasn't what I had wanted, but I finished my first race postpartum and it felt GREAT!  I'm now ready to get back into racing and running towards goals.

I am so thankful Christin agreed to run with me and push me!  It helped prove to myself that I CAN DO IT!
