Run for Ronald 5K

Over the weekend, I ran the 6th Annual Run for Ronald 5K.  I love this race for two reasons: it supports the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis and it's hosted by the local Alpha Delta Pi chapter (I'm an ADPi from the University of South Florida).

I was a bit nervous since the race mainly consists of college kids.  But I went in with the mindset that I would try to keep my speed around a 9 minute mile.
Well, I succeeded. It wasn't my best race, but t ended up winning first place in my age group (probably because there weren't any other 30 somethings) and I was the third overall female finisher.  I've never placed in the overall category so I was pretty happy about that.  But what made me happier was beating the college kids and some high school kids.  :)

Fred also ended up running and pushing the boys in the double stroller (pretty impressive).  He too placed first in his age group.  I just wish I had gotten a pic.

Stats:
Time:  27:45
Pace:  8:57/mile
Race Rank:  20
Gender Rank: 3
Age Group Rank:  1
